Fortunately, an elderly couple heard her cries and came to her rescue. They took Navidad into their home and immediately sought help. The very next day, Navidad’s demeanor changed remarkably. She was overjoyed to see Mafe, spending a long time hugging her. Although paralyzed, Navidad showed a love for movement, trying her best to get around. She regained energy and enthusiasm, which was clearly visible to her rescuers.
Navidad underwent extensive therapy to regain strength, a process she embraced wholeheartedly as long as she was with her favorite people. She developed a deep bond with Mafe and enjoyed going on walks using her new wheelchair. Her progress was significant; her skin cleared up, and she regained a healthy weight.
Recognizing her remarkable recovery, Mafe decided it was time for Navidad to move to an animal sanctuary, where she could thrive until a forever home was found. At the sanctuary, Navidad continues to live her best life, surrounded by loving caretakers.
While Navidad’s future remains uncertain, her transformation from an abandoned, paralyzed dog to a happy, energetic pup at the sanctuary is a testament to the power of compassion and dedicated care.
