In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Victoria Pasten-Morales, a 7-year-old girl from Arizona, faces a challenging future after several of her limbs were amputated due to a rare bacterial disease. The ordeal began with symptoms that quickly escalated from fever and vomiting to her lips and hands turning a worrying shade of blue. Within a mere 12-hour span, Victoria’s condition spiraled, leading to the amputation of a hand and both feet as her body battled against a severe Group A Streptococcus infection.

Her parents, Obdulia Morales and Victor Pasten, recounted the rapid progression of the disease to Fox 10, expressing shock and uncertainty over the origin of the infection. Despite the medical team’s efforts, the exact source of the life-threatening bacteria remains a mystery. Group A Streptococcus, known for causing a range of conditions from minor to fatal, has left Victoria in a precarious state, affecting not only her limbs but her lungs and kidneys as well.

Currently, Victoria is awake but relies on a ventilator for breathing support. Her parents remain hopeful, describing their daughter as a strong, resilient fighter. Although Victoria can no longer walk, her spirit remains undiminished, symbolized by her continued affectionate gestures like blowing kisses to her family.

In response to the mounting medical costs and additional expenses brought on by this unforeseen crisis, Victoria’s family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign. The online fundraiser aims to alleviate the financial strain, ensuring that Victoria’s recovery and well-being remain the sole focus. The campaign highlights Victoria’s vibrant personality and the deep bond she shares with her family, appealing to the community’s generosity during this difficult time.

To date, the campaign has garnered over $28,000 in donations, reflecting the community’s outpouring of support for Victoria and her family. As they navigate this challenging journey, the Pasten-Morales family holds onto hope and the strength of their brave daughter, whose resilience in the face of adversity continues to inspire those around her.
