Long-standing ‘The View’ moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, have given decades to the entertainment industry, making her mark from comedy to cinema, stage, and, of course, ‘The View’. As one of the few with an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony), her legacy is cemented, and her candid style has made her a beloved figure on the talk show. But rumors are swirling about her possible retirement. Is there any truth to them?

Whoopi’s presence on ‘The View’ for over sixteen years has been significant. However, speculations about her departure surfaced after The Sun reported fans questioning her long-term commitment to the show. At 67, Goldberg addressed the matter on October 17th, saying, “I’ve done nothing but retire. I’ve been retired my whole career… I have a contract. As long as I’m doing the contract, nobody’s mad.”

Goldberg enjoys a regular day off on Fridays, a pattern that has continued for years, allowing her to pursue other projects. She explained her routine, saying, “I’ve been off on Fridays for years now… I’d go to work and do shows or do whatever because I could travel on a Friday.”

The Sister Act 3 actress recently made headlines for her humorous confession about laughing so hard she wets herself. A former comedian, Goldberg joked that it’s karma for all the years she made others laugh uncontrollably.

For now, whether or not she will leave her iconic chair on ‘The View’ remains uncertain. Only time will tell if her current arrangement, which seems to suit her well, will keep her on the show for the foreseeable future.
