According to the listing, Sabra Dipping Company, LLC, is voluntarily recalling approximately 2,100 cases of 10 oz Classic Hummus over fears that it’s potentially contaminated with Salmonella.
The FDA performed a routine screen of a single tub of the dip and found Salmonella, causing the recall of 1 SKU. The now recalled dip was distributed to 16 states and is already over halfway through its shelf life.
At the moment, there have been no reports of illnesses or consumer complaints linked to the now recalled product. The FDA listing reads as follows; “Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis.
The most common symptoms of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating a contaminated product. Most people recover without treatment.”
