Here’s how long COVID antibodies last in people who’ve been infected

If you were wondering how long COVID-19 antibodies last in people who have already been infected. Here’s the answer you need.

People who have been infected with COVID-19 develop antibodies, which are like soldiers that are designed to fight of the virus if the body happens to come into contact with it again.

Researchers have been trying to determine an accurate amount of time COVID-19 antibodies last in a patient that has recovered from the infection. Now, a study out of England has suggested that COVID-19 antibodies could last as long as five months.

Now, having COVID-19 antibodies doesn’t mean you are immune to the virus. Reinfection is still possible.

What it does mean is that if you have COVID-19 antibodies from a previous infection, and you get reinfected, that new infection will be less severe than the first. Essentially, this means that reinfection cases will be far less severe.
