Kim Kardashian set to document £1.6billion divorce from Kanye West in two reality shows

Kim Kardashian could document her £1.6billion divorce from Kanye West in not just one, but TWO reality series.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashian star has already filmed the 20th and final series of the lucrative E! reality series, with filming wrapping in January – around the time the first reports of her impending divorce emerged.

The series is set to air next month, with cameras following the reality star for in the final nine months of her marriage to the rapper.

US sources have said Kanye – who has appeared in the show since 2013, but not as one of its main stars – is “very unlikely” to feature in any upcoming scenes.

Later this year, once the Kardashian family end their long-standing relationship with network E!, the sisters and matriarch Kris will move to Disney’s Hulu channel, where their new series will air at the end of this year.

Details of what programmes are included in the family’s £70million deal are yet to be confirmed, but while announcing the new partnership, Walt Disney TV chairman Dana Walden noted the appeal of unscripted reality series.

On Friday, Kim filed papers asking for a divorce from her husband of almost seven years Kanye at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, asking for joint custody of their four children; daughters North, 7 and Chicago, 2; and sons Saint, 5 and Psalm, 19 months.

However, their settlement could include a gagging order which prevents the pair divulging intimate details of the divorce itself – either in reality TV, in music on in interviews.

Kim has hired Johnny Depp’s divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser – who also represented her during her second divorce from basketball player Kris Humphries. The pair split 72 days after they celebrated their nuptials with a £7million wedding in 2011.

Kim eloped to Las Vegas with music producer Damon Thomas in 2000, when she was just 19. Her first marriage ended after four years.

US sources have insisted her split from Kanye will be amicable with one reported as saying: “This will be a fairly straightforward and hopefully quick process.”

The couple, who signed a pre-nuptual agreement, assets include £74million worth of properties.

An insider said: “It’s very sad, although they have struggled now for several months.

“They tried to make it work but it just wasn’t to be. They have grown apart.”

It comes after a tumultuous year for the pair, after Kanye – who has bipolar disorder – launched a bid to run for US President, publicly backed by Kim.

He also appeared distressed on several occasions while discussing a potential divorce from Kim, and criticised her family’s behaviour.

Kim later spoke out in defence of her “brilliant but complicated” husband and asked for the public to “give grace” towards his mental health.

In January, as filming concluded for the final ever series of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, reports broke in the US that Kim was set to file for divorce.

Speculation has mounted ever since Kim, and Kim stopped wearing her £1million wedding ring.

The couple, who wed in May 2014, also spent Christmas apart, with Kanye remaining at his £10m ranch in the state of Wyoming, while Kim’s family celebrated in California.

According to business magazine Forbes, Kanye – a rapper and founder of Yeezy fashion line – is worth around £952m with Kim valued at about £660m thanks to her reality shows, beauty ranges, underwear line and other enterprises.
