Melania Trump ‘counting down the minutes to divorce’, former aide claims after defeat

Donald Trump’s wife Melania is “counting down” until her husband is out of office and “she can divorce him,” the President’s former aide has claimed.

Melania, who has been married to Donald Trump for 15 years, is reportedly preparing to divorce her husband after a tumultuous 4 years in the White House.

The couple are said to have a “very strange” relationship, Trump’s former aide and U.S. Apprentice star, Omarosa Manigault Newman, has said.

Speaking about her explosive book, Unhinged, which offers a behind-the-scenes look into the Trump administration, and the President’s marriage, Newman said the First Lady is often “repulsed” by Trump.

She told Lorraine host, Lorraine Kelly, last month that the behaviour she has observed in the last 17 years would make anyone’s “head spin”.

Newman said: “It’s a very strange marriage. I’m very cautious to comment on the dynamics of a marriage because you never know what goes on behind closed doors.

“But I have known this couple since they were dating, they got married a year after The Apprentice aired.

“What I have observed in the last 17 years would make your head spin. Sometimes they like each other but sometimes she is repulsed by him.”

The Apprentice star also said Melania’s feelings were made clear when she appeared to pull her hand away from him after several debates.

Videos have also surfaced of the Slovenian-born First Lady grimacing at him, which have sparked a flurry of speculation about their relationship.

She also made the decision not to be front and centre on the campaign trail, a decision most First Ladies take on during election years.

It has also been widely reported Melania burst into tears when her husband was elected in 2016 as she “never expected him to win”.

Donald will not be taking up a second term in office as he lost the 46th Presidential race to Joe Biden on November 7 after 5 long days of uncertainty.

President-elect Biden will be joined by Kamala Harris, who makes history as the first woman to ever be at that level of seniority in American politics.

Biden was sitting at 263 votes for 2 days running, with projected wins in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Nevada expected him to take him over the 270 figure needed to win.

As of November 8, Pennsylvania and Nevada have confirmed Biden as their winner, with Georgia expected to stay blue despite requests from Trump for a recount.
