Boy, 5, died from brutal injuries to eyes, ears and genitals after being ‘tortured’

A young boy died from catastrophic injuries to his eyes, ears and genitals after being allegedly tortured for months, it is reported.

The five-year-old was covered in wounds and died of a brain injury after being brought into hospital last year.

Three family members are on separate trials in connection to his death in March 2020.

Peter Wodzinski, 32, Chasity Wodzinski, 29, and Michelle Boggs, 48, have been charged with murder of a child by parent, guardian or custodian.

The family of three from West Virginia have pleaded not guilty.

On March 18, police were called to investigate after little Keaton Boggs was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Doctors found him to be suffering from irreversible head trauma as well as bruises and lacerations on his genitals.

He succumbed to his injuries just two days later.

The three accused are related to Keaton, Boggs is the youngster’s grandmother, Wodzinski his aunt and Peter his uncle by marriage.

They have said the injuries are self-inflicted by Keaton, reports Mail Online.

Medics found the young boy with a four centimetre cut to his penis, as well as injuries to his testicles and thigh.

Harrison Assistant Prosecutor Gina Snuffer reported Keaton also suffered from bleeding on the brain and eyes, bruising around his neck and collarbone and injuries to his ears.

Prosecutors have argued Keaton was subject to months of abuse after his dad Christopher Boggs died of a drug overdoes in June 2019.

It was reported Keaton’s mum Jessika Bishop-Holt lost custody of him due to drug addiction.

If convicted, the three accused could face life in prison.

A trial is due to take place on March 1 for Peter, followed by March 29 and April 19 for the other two.
