Taylor Swift Trolled By Calvin Harris Fans on Twitter

A row between the former couple began on Wednesday (13Jul16), following rumours that Taylor Swift was the creative force behind Calvin and Rihanna recent hit This Is What You Came For. Following confirmation from Taylor’s camp that the Shake It Off star had penned the track under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg, Calvin took to Twitter and insisted that he wouldn’t let his former girlfriend “bury him” like she did with Katy Perry, her pop nemesis.

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” he tweeted. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

After Calvin’s remarks, his fan base came out in force to back the Scottish DJ superstar, creating cruel memes trolling the singer. Quickly the #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty hashtag began trending, after people began sharing pictures of Taylor’s former enemies arriving at the fictional bash. Among the “guests” at the event was Katy Perry who feuded with Taylor after the singer revealed during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 2014 she had penned her hit Bad Blood about a conflict with a well-known singer, describing her and the singer as “straight-up enemies”.

Katy had previously referenced the feud with a tweet in 2015, which read: “Time. The ultimate truth teller”. And as the Calvin/Taylor drama unfolded on Wednesday, Katy made the decision to retweet that message – causing even more furore among fans on social media.

“Katy Perry Has Just Retweeted Her Tweet Lmao (Laugh My Ass Off) I’m Crying,” one person wrote. “CANT EVEN BREATH #taylorswiftisoverparty.” Other partygoers at the fictional bash included Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who both fell out with Taylor over the rapper’s recent release Famous, which references the singer.

While Kanye insisted Taylor was aware of the content of the song before its release, her camp claimed that wasn’t true and she was blindsided by lyrics which included: “I made that b***h famous”.

While many of Calvin’s fans used the #taylorswiftisoverparty hashtag to reference their dislike for Taylor, others used the snake emoji as they alleged the singer had been sneaky in the way she and her camp had dealt with the whole This Is What You Came For situation.
