Murphy’s mother found her dead at home on December 20, 2009 and the Los Angeles Coroner ruled her death was due to pneumonia and anemia. The reports later states that the actress died from a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and multiple drug intoxication. At the time of her death, Brittany displayed the symptoms of heavy metal poisoning including: headaches, dizziness, abdominal cramps, coughing, sweating, disorientation, wheezing, congestion and pneumonia.
Soon after her death, her husband, Simon Monjack, by the same acute pneumonia and severe anemia, “just like Brittany,” the coroner said. Her father is contesting those findings whether she was poisoned. It’s a controversial case, but in Hollywood, controversial celebrity deaths are far from usual.
