Tim Tebow ProfileThe American football star Tim Tebow was born on August 14, 1987 at Makati, Philippines but moved to a farm in Florida, US with his parents afterwards and became American football player. They journey of success began in 1996 when Florida pass a law allowing home schooled students to play sports in the school within district they live in. By taking the advantage of this law, Tim Tebow plays quarter back for Nease High school in Ponte Vedra, Fla.

This is the first step in success and it became obvious that he would one day be a celebrity. His opponent players are also very much impressed by his performance and asked for his autographs at times. He played as a American football player at University of Florida, where he a Heisman Trophy and two national championships and became a successful player. The coach of Tebow at Florida said that Tebow couldn’t move around the campus without security or freely as his fans would line up for his autographs where he went.

Tebow’s running and throwing abilities were excellent and these abilities become the cause of his National prominence as a junior at Nease. The next year, he suffered from an injury to the right leg in the first half of the game. He was held out for the remainder of his junior season. Afterwards he became Florida’s player of the year and became a major college football quarter back prospect.

Tim Tebow College Career:

The college career of Tim was very bright and he received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida. He also played for the Florida Gators football team from 2006 to 2009 and won the Heeisman Trophy I 2007. The coaches of Florida Gators football team selected Tim as a team captain in 2008 and 2009. Tim Tebow was a big contributor in the success of Gators in 2006. He has made great achievements in his college career. He played against Tennessee Volunteers and LSU tigers in 2006. In the year 2007, Tim played a positive role in the Gator’s victory against Ohio State. Tim set numerous records in the year 2007 that includes:

  • University of Florida single-game quarter back rushing yards, 166, week 4
  • SEC season rushing touch down record, 20
  • Career high single game rushing touchdown ,5, Nov 10
  • SEC season total touchdowns (passing and rushing), 55

Tim Tebow In the media:

Tim co-wrote an autobiography “Through my eyes” with author Nathan Whitaker in which he detailed his early life and his college football experiences. The book was named a no.1 sports book of 2011 and best selling religion book as well. Moreover, Tim Tebow is a spokesperson for nike, Jockey International, FRS health energy and TiVo. Tim also appeared on the cover of Men’s Fitness Magazine in 2010. NFL’s official magazine featured Tim Tebow on the cover of this first edition which is a great honor for Tim indeed. There are also some other magazines that featured Tim on their cover. In ESPN’s “Year of the Quarterback” series, Tim was the first who featured in it. In 2012, Tim was documented on NFL’s network documentary title “The faces of Tebow”.

Tim Tebow Controversy:

Tebow faced a nationwide controversy for appearing in an ad funded by the socially conservative organization focus on the family. The ad was broadcasted on February 7th 2010 during super bowl XLIV on CBS and was condemned by pro-choice groups.

Tebow cure hospital:

Tebow foundation announced to build children hospital in the fall of 2011 in Philippines. Tebow has love for the place where he was born so he started work on this project in January 2012 and is expected to complete in 2013.
