Movie Review: Taken 2

Liam Neeson Taken 2

A sequel to a rather bad luck ridden family, Liam Neeson is back in action this time to recover his wife from the abduction. Another chain to a list of high end action, mystery and suspense, Taken 2 has much in common with its prequel Taken. The first part of the series begins with Kim (Maggie Grace) getting kidnapped on her vacation through Europe and thus sets a mission for her father (Liam Neeson), former special ops officer, to use his skills to trace down her daughter using little clues and stop her from becoming the sex slave of a Sheikh to whom she has been sold by Euro Human Traffickers.

Taken 2 Movie Review

With the last movie in heart of France, The film makers now took it one step ahead and this time the scene is set in the streets of Turkey. That’s right, the quest for ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen), Brian Mills (Liam Neeson) now hunts the kidnappers around Turkey, the place where he’s expecting his ex-wife and daughter after his last assignment.

Taken 2 Movie Poster

The scene sets with the father of one of the trafficker that is killed in the first movie plans to take revenge on Brian Mills and wants to kill his ex and daughter right in front of his eyes, before killing himself. More like the right time to get along with an ex and bring the family back, Brian goes on a quest, only this time it is more action packed and easily sends fingers to the mouths.

The plot is very well set and the role seemed to be very well suited for Liam Neeson; an extremely pissed off man with a high end skills and extreme deftness with weaponry and the ability to make one if the moment asks for. The action is yet the very Liam style; hand to hand encounters with some automatic gunfire exchange. The one little flaw in the plot was the lack of keeping the views curious. The movie is highly predictable at every end and one can easily suspect what’s going to be the action-god’s next move. Chasing the bad guys around is one hell of a task but with Liam Neeson on the trail, it all seems too easy.
